MARIEN GADEA

Marien lives in Spain and teaches Neuroscience in the University of Valencia. She dedicated most part of her life to academic research and has written more than twenty scientific articles in specialized journals. She is responsible, intelligent and serious. In parallel, Marien always has been interested in beauty and creativity, and she started to study Art, though she never graduated. She came to photography from being a mother, shooting her daughter as a baby in her arms. Gradually she separated shots and fields. Images of her daughter were in a folder and images of herself in another, and so she was getting involved into the selfie affair without even noted.

“All i can say is that i am a divided person” are her preferred words. So her different worlds were growing separately and being specialized. She started to shot other persons apart from her baby, mostly beautiful women naked, who wanted to be her models because they have seen some of her very first selfies. She found extremely interesting that people trusted her to be models. A psychological approach came in and all got sense. When she discovered the ease of shooting with a mobile she also played other styles, mainly street and minimal. Then one day she entered Instagram and felt it seemed the perfect platform to develop her divided world.

“You can have your heteronims there”, says, winking an eye to her alter egos. Her photos of non profesional models of more than 40 years were exposed in Ubik Cafè (Valencia, 2012) and one of her street photos appeared in a collective exhibition of Igers-casaldelapau (Valencia, 2013, time when she signed as @kokedamaa). Moreover, she wrote a bunch of reviews of classic nude photographs for the platform EgolandSeduccion, a place dedicated to heterosocial psychology. Now she allows us to enjoy one of her Ig profiles: her moody selfies of @number21_ some of them spicy sensual and other just fully emotional. We will be waiting for her next surprises.
